The first-ever salt room at sea will feature as part of Norwegian Breakaway’s ‘Mandara Spa’ when the ship launches next May, along with a vast array of innovative fitness classes designed with the urban New Yorker in mind.
Encompassing more than 23,000 square feet, the ‘Mandara Spa’ and fitness area will span two decks with 22 treatment rooms and 50 signature services including a ’24 Karat Gold Facial’, the Bamboo massage and two bliss® services; the bliss® triple oxygen treatment and bliss® ‘fatgirlslim’.
Popular in spas worldwide, salt room therapy is said to alleviate respiratory and skin ailments, strengthen the immune system, promote improved sleeping patterns and improve long-term lung function.
Set in a ‘grotto’ the Salt Room will overlook the ocean and will feature 13 heated tile loungers, a vitality pool, whirlpools, sauna, solarium and steam room as well as a full-service salon offering hair, nail, waxing and special child-friendly services and a full service Barber Shop exclusively for men.
Following the naming of the Rockettes® as godmothers of Norwegian Breakaway, the fitness centre will feature a range of innovative classes including one especially designed by the iconic dancers.
Inspired by an “urban New York City playground”, fitness classes will include the first ever Nexersys® interactive fighting modules at sea allowing guests to engage in high-intensity interval training against an avatar via the use of a simulator, ‘Freestyle Fight Club’ and the first-ever ‘Black Light Spinning’ at sea set in a room lit by only black lights and neon graffiti art.
Low impact classes will also feature; including the pilates inspired ‘Spirals’ and ‘Chi Balls’, reformer and kettle bell training.
