Windstar Winemaker
NewsGuests aboard Windstar’s Wind Surf will learn about wine from US winemaking expert Chris Figgins on a seven-day ‘Yachtsman’s Caribbean’ sailing on February 18, 2012.
Figgins is the president and winemaking director for Figgins Family Wine Estates, which through its collection of brands (including Leonetti Cellar), produces some highly sought-after red wines.
Guests will travel from Philipsburg, St. Maarten to Soper’s Hole, Tortola; Jost Van Dyke, British Virgin Islands (BVI); Virgin Gorda, BVI; Basseterre, St Kitts; Les Saintes, Guadeloupe; and Gustavia, St Barthelemy while Figgins lubricates hearts and minds with wine tastings, a lecture and a question and answer session.
Wind Surf accommodates 312 guests in oceanview staterooms, Spa suites and Bridge suites. The ship also features culinary options at The Restaurant, Degrees, Le Marché and Candles; a lounge, Yacht Club, casino, three bars, two pools, two hot tubs and a water sports platform.
Windstar operates three sailing yachts that because of their size have access to secluded coves and unspoilt harbours around the world. The ships cruise to nearly 50 nations, calling at 100 ports throughout Europe, the Caribbean and the Americas.
