P&O partners with Newcastle TV station to seek out the community’s unsung heroes.

Is there someone in your local community continually giving up their time to help others? There’s many generous people in every community and P&O Cruises is looking to reward five such people with a three-night Food and Wine cruise for two people.

P&O Cruises has partnered with local Newcastle television station NBN Television to promote the new Community Hero campaign, in which people can nominate a person whom they think is most deserving.

“It could be a sporting coach, social and charity worker, artist or a volunteer who is usually working unheralded to offer support and improve the lives of others less fortunate or provide the guiding hand and opportunity to encourage our youth,” said P&O Cruises ambassador and Hunter local Paul Harragon (pictured).

“They deserve wider recognition and a chance to take a well-earned break with an unforgettable cruise for two, courtesy of P&O Cruises,” he said.

There are five cruises to be won; one for each of the Central Coast, Newcastle/Hunter, North West NSW, Mid North Coast and Far North Coast regions. All nominees have to be 18 years or older and the nominations are open from now until June 30, 2011.
