Volendam goes east

Holland America Line has announced a series of Far East voyages aboard MS Volendam from December 2012 to April 2013.

Its nine voyages offer two 14-day itineraries:

‘Far East Explorer Voyages’ sailing between Hong Kong and Singapore with port calls including Koh Samui, Thailand and Halong Bay, Vietnam (departing January 7, January 21 and February 4).

And ‘China and Japan Discovery Voyage’, sailing from Hong Kong to Kobe with port calls including Xingang, China and Nagasaki, Japan (departing February 18, March 4, March 18 and, as a roundtrip from Kobe, on April 1).

“Our Asia itineraries offer everything, from interesting shore excursions and cultural encounters to ports with deep historical roots and unique experiences,” said Richard Meadows, executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programs.

Volendam’s Asian journey will start on a 16-day ‘Great Barrier Holiday’ sailing from Sydney to Singapore via Indonesia (December 22, 2012).

It will end with a 17-day trans-Pacific crossing from Kobe to Vancouver, British Columbia (April 15, 2012).
