The Vikings of northern Europe were fearsome seafaring warriors.

Their raids of Europe, Asia and North Atlantic islands between the 8th and 11th centuries instilled such fear into people’s hearts that, 10 centuries on, as children we still learn of their exploits.

Next year, from May to August, Star Clippers’ four-masted luxury clipper Star Flyer will trace the legendary voyages of the Vikings to 37 historic ports in Scandinavia and the Baltic – historic journeys taken on a traditional (and luxurious) seafaring vessel.

The ship will visit The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Lithuania, Russia, Estonia and Latvia. The beginning of the season will also offer passengers the opportunity to be onboard Star Flyer as she participates in sailing parades with tall ships from around the world in Hamburg, Kiel, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen and Warnemuende.

The ship’s season of 18 cruises, mainly seven nights, will commence with a five-night cruise from Southampton to Hamburg on May 5.
