Continued civil unrest in Libya prompts P&O Cruises to cancel three calls to Tripoli.

Winter itineraries for P&O Cruises’ Adonia, Oriana and Oceana are to be altered due to the current political situation in Libya. In the interest of the safety of passengers, the amended itineraries will see calls at Tripoli replaced with visits to other ports in the region.

An Adonia cruise, departing on December 20, will visit La Goulette in Tunisia instead of its scheduled visit to Tripoli on December 30, 2011. Call dates for Haifa, Ashod and Malta have also been altered to accommodate the change.

Oriana, which is scheduled to visit Tripoli on January 11, 2012 during a world cruise, will now visit Naples and Malta instead.

And a 24-night cruise on Oceana, departing Southampton on February 26, 2012, has had its Tripoli call replaced with a visit to Egypt’s ancient city of Alexandria.

Do you think P&O has chosen its replacement ports wisely?
