Princess Cruises have announced additional details of the innovative features on the top deck of their newest build, Royal Princess.

Including such firsts-at-sea as the glass-bottomed SeaWalk, SeaView Bar and a water and light spectacular, the top deck will feature more outdoor entertainment options and experiences than ever before.

“We’re placing more emphasis on our outdoor entertainment options with this new ship,” Princess Cruises executive vice president Jan Swartz said.

“With all these exciting features on the top decks, passengers will really enjoy their time under the sun – or stars.”

The innovative ‘SeaWalk’ will extend eight metres beyond the starboard side of the ship and sit nearly 40 metres above the ocean, while the ‘SeaView Bar’ will offer a range of beverages served whilst overlooking unparalleled vistas.

Fresh water pools will flank an island seating area and will be surrounded by palm trees and sun lounges.

The area will host a myriad of games and live music inspired by the ship’s ports of call, while the island will transform into a stage for an interactive sound and light show complete with 85 dancing fountains projecting ten metres into the air.

Princess will enhance their current ‘Movies Under the Stars’ offering with a screen that is 30 percent larger than their other ships and a high-tech audio system for passengers to watch a host of movies, sporting events and concerts via cushioned loungers or in the giant whirlpools.
