Tahiti emerges as top cruise spot
DestinationsTahiti is emerging as one of the next cruise hot spots, with more cruise lines adding calls to the region in 2014.
Windstar will return to Tahiti for the first time since 2005 to offer 28 seven-day itineraries in May. Princess Cruises will offer three additional departures of its 10-day Tahiti and French Polynesia itinerary.
Paul Guaguin Cruises and Aranui will continue to offer regular itineraries around the Society Islands, Tuamotus and the Marquesas, while Oceania Cruises, Silversea, Regent Seven Seas and Royal Caribbean will cruise the region with a range of options from super liner to freighter experiences.
Tahiti Tourisme Australia director Robert Thompson said cruising is one of the best ways to island hop and sample some of Tahiti’s different islands.
He said: “With more than 100 islands to explore and a tropical year-round climate, Tahiti really is an ideal cruise destination.”
