The refurbished Sun Princess now has a bright and airy atrium with a signature international café serving pastries, sandwiches and specialist coffee which has become a popular meeting place.
There is also a new 47-seater sushi restaurant Kai Sushi which replaced the former champagne bar.
The Lotus Spa has been refitted and refreshed including the installation of an “ofuru” bath tub made of cedar wood in one of its treatment rooms.
As Princess Cruises Vice-President Australia Stuart Allison says: ”Sun Princess has been a popular ship with Australian passengers since she was first deployed in 2007 and we think they’ll love the latest changes.’’
The 77,000-tonne Sun Princess is presently sailing on a series of round trips from Sydney to New Zealand, Queensland and the South Pacific before starting her second season of cruises from Japan in April next year.
