The Great American Steamboat Company has announced the entertainment line-up for American Queen’s inaugural cruise season on the mighty Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee Rivers.

The Platters will perform their classic 1955 hit Only You, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin will be evoked for The Rat Pack Show and Broadway hits, Dixieland Jazz, big bands, bluegrass, ragtime and classic rock and roll will feature.

Performances will take place in the ship’s Grand Saloon, a sumptuous two-deck-high entertainment venue that has all the furnishings and features of an intimate early 20th-century theatre.

Bill Haley & His Comets, famous for their hits Rock Around the Clock and Shake, Rattle and Roll will join The Platters on the ship’s September 7 voyage. Residents of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Loving Spoonful (Do You Believe in Magic and Nashville Cats) will perform on voyages departing July 11, July 18 and July 22 2012.
