Crystal Cruises is offering a zero single supplement promotion on 15 sailings to the Caribbean and Mediterranean in 2022 onboard the Crystal Symphony. The promotion allows single guests to enjoy the luxury amenities without the supplement attached to solo travellers.

Here’s what the other cruise lines offer solo travellers.

Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises is offering special rates for solo travellers, without the supplement. The fares start at 100% to 110% off the cruise fare on last minute deals. The special fare is available on selected itineraries from Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, San Francisco to Caribbean, California Coast, Getaways, Mexico and Panama Canal. They do not currently have any solo cabins.

Oceania Cruises

Last month Oceania Cruises announced they would ditch twin-share pricing for solo travellers due to increased demand for solo cruises. A survey from booking.com predicts solo cruising to take off in 2022 as more and more people are willing to travel on their own.

The staterooms, which will be offered on Oceania’s Vista features all the luxuries that guests would expect including a seated area that overlooks a private balcony and a separate sleeping area with a single bed.

Cunard

Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 features 15 solo staterooms for cruisers travelling on their own. The space for the solo cabins was carved out of space that previously made up part of the ship’s casino and art gallery.  The oceanview cabins are spacious with a single bed, a sitting area, a writing desk, an ensuite bathroom with a shower and a mini-fridge.

Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Cruise Line was the first cruise line to create accommodation specifically for solo travellers. At 100 square feet for a studio, these interior cabins are smaller than standard cabins however they offer solo travellers an affordable way to cruise. Solo travellers will have access to an exclusive lounge where they can meet other solo cruisers.

Royal Caribbean

In recent years, Royal Caribbean has configured some of their ships to include solo staterooms. These rooms are available in two categories – either as a studio interior with a virtual view or a super studio ocean view with a balcony. Unlike some cruise lines, the bed is full size. The cabins can be as small as 100 square feet but include all the usual amenities like a flat-screen TV, an ensuite bathroom and a mini fridge.

Holland America Line

At 127-172 square feet, the single oceanview staterooms onboard Holland America Line’s Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam are bigger than on other ships. The rooms are equipped with a full sized bed, ensuite and an oceanview.

MSC Cruises

Solo travellers can book a simple interior studio onboard the MSC Meraviglia and MSC Bellissima. The interior studio comes with a writing desk, a foot stool, a flat-screen television, an ensuite bathroom with a shower and a single bed that can be converted into a couch during the day.  The room is 129 square feet.

P&O Cruises

Some of P&O Cruises ships have solo cabins. You will find a mix of interior, oceanview and balcony cabins however availability will depend on the ship you sail on. Iona offers interior and balcony cabins. They are very small though ranging from 101 to 107 square feet. Arcadia has the largest interior and balcony cabins with sizes from 189 to 206 square feet.

Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity’s Apex, Edge and Silhouette ships all have solo cabins, which have an infinite veranda which blurs the line between the indoors and the outdoors. The room is a reasonable size at an average of 184 square feet including the balcony. The amenities are exactly the same as double occupancy, except they are for one only.

Viking Ocean Cruises and Seabourn

These lines do not have any solo cabins on their ships, however they do offer promotions on selected sailings where the solo supplement is reduced.
