Forget 2D images – Ponant has released a series of ‘photospheres’, click-and-drag visual productions offering 360-degree views of its ships’ surroundings.

With the help of Google Maps, the photospheres showcase beautiful destinations such as Komodo Island in Indonesia, Milford Sound in Indonesia and, of course, Sydney’s very own harbour.

The first production came as a result of footage captured by Australian photographer and producer Tony Redhead during a voyage onboard L’Austral from Bali to Cairns. It was so good, Ponant’s Sydney-based marketing team commissioned this series of photospheres to highlight destinations on its itineraries.

They have already received more than 13,000 views.
