It’s hard to miss a 139,400-ton ship sailing into port – but MSC Cruises wanted to ensure all eyes were MSC Divina as she arrived into Port Miami for the first time this week.

The ship completed her 18-night Atlantic Ocean journey from Venice, Italy to become the first MSC Cruises ship to sail year-round from North America.

In true diva-style, she was escorted into Port Miami by a fleet of high-powered FIAT personal watercraft. She also had a Rosso Brillante Fiat 500 loaded onto the ship to accompany her on her Atlantic crossing.

Why the FIAT you ask? Because much like MSC Divina, the FIAT brand made a trip from Italy to America two years ago to bring Italian style, European technology to the market, according to FIAT chief marketing officer Olivier Francois.

“[This] marks an important milestone for MSC Cruises as we continue to grow in this region, offering more destinations and appealing to wider audiences,” MSC Cruises USA chief executive Richard Sasso explained.

“We look forward to offering North American cruisers something new and fresh.”

In addition to Italian features, MSC Divina will be the first ship to offer the latest fitness craze, Aqua Cycling at sea. She will also feature two entirely unique Italian restaurants created in conjunction with Eataly in Manhattan, New York – they are the upscale Ristorante Italia and Eataly Steakhouse.

In light of the ship’s relocation, MSC Cruises has compiled a list of top five things to do and see in the Caribbean.
