Royal Caribbean welcomes 100,000th passenger!
NewsFamily feels the Rhapsody from an unexpected surprise.
Little did the Goodman family know, when they arrived at Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal, that the Rhapsody of the Seas New Years cruise they were about to take would be so full of surprises.
The Bondi family was welcomed by Royal Caribbean International when one of the party became the 100,000th person to take a Royal Caribbean cruise since the line began operating cruises Down Under.
Although technically only one person is the 100,000th cruiser, the whole family – mum Karen, dad Steven and three children, Gidon, Avi and Joshua – were given VIP treatment for the entirety of their 10-night South Pacific cruise to New Caledonia and Vanuatu, which began on December 27.
The ‘Royal’ treatment included behind-the-scenes ship tours, dinner with Rhapsody of the Seas’ captain, Rick Sullivan, and a US$200 onboard voucher, which the Goodmans spent on snorkelling and cultural shore tours, and day spa treatments.
“The captain’s a really nice captain,” said Gidon, the youngest of the family.
