Royal Caribbean has equipped Navigator of the Seas with some of the line’s most popular activities, including the FlowRider surf simulator and the sports deck.

The 3,114-passenger ship emerged from dry-dock earlier this month, sporting the changes. She was the first of the line’s fleet to receive the updates as part of an extensive fleet-wide program to enhance every Royal Caribbean ship.

Changes on board include the introduction of the Sports Deck on deck 13, which includes a rollerblading in-line track, basketball court, golf course and rock climbing wall.

Virtual Balconies were fitted in 81 interior staterooms – they display expansive, real-time views of the ocean and destinations.

Guests looking for an extensive view can book the Panoramic Ocean View staterooms, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass walls facing outward to provide guests with breathtaking, unobstructed views.

Eating options on board have also changed, with the introduction eight new dining venues. Among them is Sabor, a Mexican specialty restaurant.

Navigator guests will be the first to enjoy the fully revamped Chops Grille: The New American Steakhouse. The restaurant combines contemporary and traditional steakhouse offerings to serve dishes like such as the Veal Chop Parmesan – slowly grilled with caramelized shallots and topped with Parmesan herb butter and a Dry-ages Steak Burger served on a brioche bun and topped with melted Gruyere and pancetta.

Other dining venues include the new Izumi Japanese Cuisine with an a la carte menu and Giovanni’s Table for Italian dishes.

According to Royal Caribbean Cruises Australia commercial director Adam Armstrong, Voyager of the Seas is next in line to receive the refurbishment although he wouldn’t reveal details.

However, last year during a tour of the ship Cruise Passenger discovered Voyager will likely receive new activities like the FlowRider as well as extra cabins.

“Navigator of the Seas gives a good of what’s to come,” Mr Armstrong said.

Navigator of the Seas is based in the Caribbean and sails seven-night Western Caribbean itineraries every Sunday from Galveston.
