Royal Caribbean charges for breakfast with Shrek and Fiona
NewsParents will need to save a little extra for their next Royal Caribbean cruise, as the line introduces a cover charge for its popular ‘DreamWorks Character Breakfast’.
From 1 September a $10 per person charge will be added for patrons six years and older. The breakfast had been free since it launched in 2010.
The special breakfast is available on ships with the DreamWorks Experience including Voyager of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas.
During the meal, characters from Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar make an appearance.
Royal Caribbean said in a statement the fee was introduced to reduce crowding during the event.
“This cover charge has been introduced to better manage the high demand of this incredibly popular offering, allowing the ships to continue to deliver the highly personalised guest experience,” the line said.
Royal Caribbean confirmed all other elements of the DreamWorks Experience will continue to be complimentary.
