The 2,092-passenger ocean liner, Queen Elizabeth will make history when she calls into Abu Dhabi for the first time this month.

The ship will stop at Zayed Port on 17 April as part of her 119-day world cruise from Southampton, an Abu Dhabi newspaper, The National reported.

She will call into Abu Dhabi after three days of sailing at sea from Mumbai, India.

Following her visit she will head to Dubai for two days before visiting Jordan, Egypt, Italy, Spain, Portugal and finally England.

Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority acting executive director of tourism Sultan Al Dhaheri said the ship’s arrival demonstrated the port’s credibility as a winter destination.

According to the tourism leader, the return of the ship also marked growing interest in the UAE in cruising.
