Two as-yet-named 141,017-ton, 4,000 passenger ships are going through a thorough design process under a code name for Project Breakaway. Norwegian Cruise Line made the big announcement at a conference in Las Vegas last week.
The cruise line is listening to passengers’ feedback and combining the best of Norwegian Epic and Jewel-class ships’ styles. So far, feedback has confirmed Epic’s clouded glass bathroom doors and in-cabin sink are unpopular design elements leading NCL to noticeably omit them from the new ship designs.
The recently released renderings show more storage spaces, separable king-sized beds, and more energy efficient rooms, while the colourings are similar to Epic’s palette and cabins share Jewel’s boxy style. More features will be announced over the next 22 months and Cruise Passenger will keep you posted with any new details.
