Princess will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a 70s throwback party aboard Regal Princess.
The festive onboard celebration will include a Love Boat Disco Deck Party with Movies Under the Stars showcasing video messages from the original Love Boat cast, a Love Boat sing-a-long and show trivia, 70s music videos and a live kiss cam.
One night on every cruise, the main dining rooms will present a special souvenir menu, featuring commemorative dishes from the past five decades such as Duck Terrine with apricot preserves, filet of turbot and truffle chive sauce. There’s also spicy tomato and shrimp, potato, bacon and brie pizza.
Princess has also arranged for mixologist Spike Marchant to serve cocktails popular throughout the decades including the classic martini and pina colada.
There’ll also be anniversary décor and signage displayed around ships and some ports.
The cruise line’s 50th anniversary officially kicks off on 5 November during Regal Princess’ naming ceremony.
The original cast members of The Love Boat will be flown to Fort Lauderdale in Florida for the event where they will act as the ship’s godparents.
The popular TV show and the cruise line have a long history, with much of the series filmed aboard Pacific Princess and Island Princess.
