Portuscale unveils Australian cruise itineraries
NewsPortuscale Cruises’ has released details of its first Australian itineraries as part of its 2015 Southern Hemisphere Collection brochure.
The Portuguese line will send its recently renovated M/V Funchal to Australia from February next year to sail regional itineraries out of Geelong and Newcastle.
During her two-month visit, she will sail seven itineraries ranging from four to eight days.
Among the cruises is a four-day Taster trip departing Newcastle on 17 February. In addition to experiencing the 20-year-old ship’s $22 million refit, cruisers will also visit Eden before arriving in Geelong.
Itineraries also include a six-day Island Escape roundtrip from Geelong departing on 20 February with a visit to Penneshaw; a four-day Beautiful Bass Strait roundtrip from Geelong with calls in Burnie and Portland; an eight-day Tassie Explorer leaving Geelong on 28 February with visits to Burnie, Hobart and Port Arthur; and a four-day Northern Nostalgia roundtrip departing 7 March with a stop in Eden and Newcastle.
Cruisers can also leave Australia aboard the ship on a 57-day Battlefields and Gallipoli cruise, which departs Newcastle on 10 March and visits Lae, Wewak, Sandakan, Pelabuhan Bintulu, Singapore, George Town, Colombo, Salalah, Sharm el-Sheikh, Alexandria, Iraklion, Çanakkale, Istanbul, Myrina, Piraeus/Athens, Valletta, Gibraltar, Porto and Portsmouth.
Itineraries are now on sale, with an early booking saving of up to 15 percent when booked by 31 July 2014.
