All seven P&O Cruises UK’s ships will come together for the line’s 175th anniversary.

To celebrate 175 years since the Peninsula Steam Navigation Company was awarded the contract to carry mail to the Iberian Peninsula and onwards, P&O Cruises UK is bringing all its ships together for a ‘Grand Event’.

In what is sure to be a highly publicised spectacle, on July 3, 2012 the seven-ship fleet will meet in Southampton and sail out of the port in a procession, with a combined total of 15,000 passengers onboard simultaneous ‘Grand Event’ cruises.

Each of the cruises goes on sale on April 5 and will feature special mini-events such as a 175th anniversary gala dinner, a heritage art display and guest speakers, as well as a competition that will see seven passengers win a World Cruise for two people in 2013.

There are seven ‘Grand Event’ itineraries on offer, ranging from four to 17 nights, featuring destinations from around the world.

These include an 11-night Atlantic Islands cruise on Azura; a 17-night Central Mediterranean cruise on Ventura; a seven-night Norwegian Fjords cruise on Oceana; a 14-night Norway ad Iceland cruise on Arcadia; a 17-night Baltic cruise on Aurora; a four-night cruise on Oriana; a 21-night Central Mediterranean cruise on Adonia.
