Out of service
NewsCarnival Splendor will be out of the water until January 16.
Due to the engine room fire that left thousands of passengers stranded onboard Carnival Splendor last week, Carnival Cruise Lines has cancelled all her voyages until January 16.
Carnival Cruise Lines staff, representatives from the shipyard where Carnival Splendor was built, and other representatives from manufacturers are currently assessing the damage, while the US Coast Guard, Carnival engineers and other authorities are on board investigating the cause of the fire.
Any passengers who are affected by the cruise cancellations will be fully reimbursed for their missed cruise and airfares plus they will receive a 25 per cent discount for a future cruise, the cruise line says.
“We sincerely apologise to everyone who was scheduled to sail on these cancelled voyages and look forward to welcoming them aboard in the future,” said Gerry Cahill, Carnival president and CEO.
