Cunard-lovers following the new Queen Elizabeth’s maiden world voyage have seen her rendezvous with her two sisters in New York; Queen Mary 2 in Sydney; and now her older namesake Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) in Dubai.

Both liners sounded their whistles as Queen Elizabeth passed QE2 – the longest-serving Cunard ship left the fleet in 2008 after more than 40 years of service and now languishes dockside in Dubai.

Queen Elizabeth is now on the final leg of her circumnavigation, which includes calls at Aqaba, Jordan; Suez and Port Said, Egypt; Athens, Rome and Lisbon, and concludes in her homeport in Southampton on April 19.

Those of you who managed to get a booking on Queen Elizabeth’s world voyage, what did you think?
