Oceania’s R-class ships undergo $50 million makeover
NewsOceania Cruises has committed $50 million to renovate its three R-class ships, Insignia, Nautica and Regatta.
The three 684-passenger ships were built in 1998, and were last refurbished in 2010 and 2011. Now, less than three years later, the line is planning to put the sister ships under the knife again during the second quarter next year.
The line says refurbishment will include incorporating the best parts of Oceania’s two newest ships, Marina and Riviera while retaining popular aspects of the ships, Fodors reported.
New additions to the ships include; the Baristas coffee bar; a Terrace Café serving steaks, chops and lobster; and a mini-golf course on the sports deck.
Public areas will be refreshed and receive new furniture, the pool deck will be revamped, and all staterooms will be transformed with new décor.
