Oceania cooks up new onboard culinary classes
NewsHolidaymakers sailing on Oceania Cruises’ Marina and Riviera will become culinary experts, with 20 different cooking classes on the line’s 2014 curriculum.
New classes range from beginner to master-chef level and can run from 45 minutes to three hours. They include tastes from regional cultures and cuisines.
Oceania Cruises president Kunal S. Kamlani said the line’s cooking classes are unique, because they offer a hand-on experience.
He said: “What has set our culinary centers apart is the opportunity for guests to actually cook themselves.”
In addition to cooking, the culinary experience also includes market tours where passengers shop for local ingredients with acclaimed Chef Kelly.
A highlight of the new program is the Viva Espana class. Guests learn how to host a tapas party with sangria and authentic Spanish dishes. It is available on board Riviera’s 7-day Flavors of Europe tour sailing from Rome on 1 September 2014 to Barcelona.
The Magical Morocco class teaches passengers t he basics of Moroccan cooking using local spices and ingredients. The session is available on the Tapestry of Cultures 10-day Lisbon to Rome tour on the Marina departing 24 September 2014.
Culinary classes can be booking in advance and are based on availability. They start from $69 per person.
