**Update: The BBC has named the missing woman as 24-year-old Briton Rebecca Coriam, who was a youth worker aboard Disney Wonder. Investigators from the Bahamas Maritime Authority, where Wonder is registered, apparently boarded the 3,325-passenger ship in Cabo San Lucas on Friday, while the US Coast Guard and Mexican Navy have continued to search the seas. Disney Wonder finished the seven-day cruise in Los Angeles yesterday.

A Disney Wonder employee has been missing since Tuesday when she failed to arrive for a shift while the ship was sailing off Mexico’s Pacific Coast, the cruise line has said in a statement.

When the unidentified worker did not report for duty on Tuesday morning, staff undertook a thorough search of the cruise ship, which proved fruitless. It was then that the cruise line “contacted the FBI and the Bahamas Maritime Authority, which is leading the investigation on this matter,” said Disney spokesperson Christi Erwin Donnan.

The Mexican Navy is conducting a search along Disney Wonder’s route. The ship is on a seven-day Mexican Riviera cruise that departed from Los Angeles on Sunday. It was at sea Monday and Tuesday when the crewmember went missing, then called at Puerto Vallarta on Wednesday and Cabo San Lucas yesterday.

“Given the circumstances, we are very concerned about this situation and are doing everything possible to assist with the search effort and investigation,” the Disney Cruise Line statement said.
