They iron newspapers to dry the ink, press garments perfectly, unpack and neatly store your clothes and serve the best champagne in the privacy of your suite.

There’s nothing they can’t do from arranging your spa appointment to polishing your shoes. And they are on call 24 hours a day.

Welcome to the new brigade of white-gloved Dream Butlers – trained by the very best.

Butler training manager Rainer Markt has served Hollywood stars Dustin Hoffman, Julie Andrews and the late Patrick Swayze.

He earned his stripes with luxury line Crystal Cruises, and will now be responsible for the training of both European and Chinese butlers who will taught how to pamper the wealthy and discerning cruise passengers.

Dream Butlers will be rolled out when Genting Dream, the first luxury cruise liner is launched in Guangzhou, China in November this year.

So when guests check into their Dream Grand Villas or Dream Mansion – the “most spacious duplex villas at sea’’ –  the Dream Butlers will be on hand, “never obtrusive but mindful of guests needs, to cater to their every comfort,’’ so says owners, Genting Hong Kong, one of Asia’s leading cruise, hospitality and gaming corporations which also have Star Cruises and luxury line, Crystal in their portfolio.

“Dream Cruises aims to be a pacesetter in the cruise industry, with the finest dining options, exceptional service, enthralling entertainment and inspirational experiences,’’ says Thatcher Brown, president of Dream Cruises.

“The Dream Butler service offers discerning Dream Mansion guests, a truly luxurious Dream Cruises accommodation experience, as part of our overall aim to redefine vacation travel for our customers with a transformational journey at sea.’’

Genting Dream can accommodate 3,400 guests, has 2,000 crew on board and boasts 142 spacious suites with dedicated butler service. Its Dream Mansion are 224 sq metres and will have original contemporary artwork, a whirlpool spa, sauna, private sundeck and even a grand piano. Guests can host dinner parties without lifting a finger – courtesy of their Dream Butlers.

And when the party is over, they can curl up in bed under their luxurious Italian Frette bedlinen.

Genting Dream is still being built at Meyer Werft in Germany. Sister ship, World Dream is scheduled to be launched in November next year.
