New cruise ship delivered in preparation for christening and maiden cruise.

The cruise industry is in a flurry of excitement this month, with the arrival and christening of Disney Dream yesterday and maiden voyage of MarinaOceania Cruises’ stylish new addition – tomorrow.

A highly anticipated new flagship for the cruise line, Marina was delivered to her owners from Fincantieri’s Sestri Ponente shipyard near Genoa on January 19, and is set to offer a new standard in epicurean travel.

“The new Marina is not only beautiful, but one of the most elegant ships we have built in the last years,” said Giuseppe Bono, CEO of Fincantieri. “Today is a proud day for all of our employees and partners associated with this first new build for Oceania Cruises.”

Marina’s amenities include the hands-on Bon Appétit Culinary centre, celebrity chef Jacques Pépin’s first restaurant at sea, Ralph Lauren-furnished Owner’s Suites for those who can afford, and 10 different dining options.

Tomorrow, the 1,250-passenger Marina will set sail from Barcelona in Spain en route to Miami, Florida where she will be named by Entertainment Tonight host Mary Hart on February 5. From then she’ll cruises through the Panama Canal, Caribbean and US coast before relocating to the Mediterranean.
