Cruisers will have an easier time remembering [and pronouncing] Compagnie du Ponant after the line shortened its name down to a single word, Ponant.
Now known as just Ponant, the rebranding was made to support the French line’s expansion.
Next year, the company will welcome its fourth expedition ship, Le Lyrial. It has also opened new offices in Sydney, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Miami and Hamburg and is sending its first ship to Australian waters in December.
“With the new name, the company is developing the brand while preserving its roots,” the line said.
The change also comes with a new slogan ‘Yacht Cruises & Expeditions’.
The company said the slogan illustrates that Ponant provides more than just yacht cruises, but also luxurious expeditions.
Despite, the changes, the company has kept its old logo – an illustration of its three sails from its first cruise yacht, Le Ponant.
The sails of the vessel have been made firmer and now sit to the left of the word ‘Ponant’.
