P&O Cruises UK’s first season of Green World Tours has been such a success that the cruise line is now offering new options to its 2012 Green World Tours program.

Green World Tours offer passengers on longer itineraries the chance to participate in charitable and responsible-tourism-based shore excursions. The excursions are designed to provide support to the towns and villages visited, while giving passengers a memorable experience and greater connection to the people whose lands they explore.

New tours include:

Rural Life & SOS Village, Nha Trang, Vietnam.

A visit to the SOS Children’s village, where the needs and rights of children without parental care are provided, followed by a visit to Vinh Thanh commune to watch the farmers plant and harvest their rice.

Mondesa Township, Walvis Bay, Namibia.

Passengers visit a township where poverty and unemployment is high, but where the community raises awareness and facilitates growth, friendship, support and mutual understanding.
