Uniworld has selected world-renowned French actress, Catherine Deneuve to christen the line’s newest Super Ship, SS Catherine.

As the ship’s Godmother and namesake, she will break a champagne bottle on the river ship at an inauguration ceremony in Lyon, France on 27 March 2014.

According to Uniworld president Guy Young, Catherine exemplifies the class, sophistication, beauty and elegance of the line’s new vessel.

“We are excited to have Ms Deneuve as the Godmother to our new Super Ship, S.S. Catherine,” he said.

Catherine has had an acting career spanning more than 50 years. She is best-known for her roles in ‘Belle du Jour’ and ‘Indochine’.
