Fred Olsen lets passengers tell the Captain where to go

Fred Olsen has introduced a new, innovative form of cruising, where passengers choose which ports the ship will call into.

The one-time offer is available on the line’s 15-night ‘You Choose The Next Port of Call’ sailing aboard 371-passenger ship Braemar.

Departing Southampton on 10 October 2015, guests will be able to ‘steer the ship’ by voting on two destinations every 48 hours. The destination that receives the most votes will be the next destination the ship sails to.

The first decision guests will decide on its whether to point Braemar towards Vigo in Spain or Leixoes in Portugal.

The next night will be a choice between Malaga or Gibraltar in Spain, followed by cosmopolitan Barcelona or traditional Palamos.

The ship will then visit cultural Valencia or historic Palma before making its way to either the ancient city of Cartagena or harbor city, Alicante.

Guests will then pick between beautiful Cadiz or call into shopping district of Portimåo before reaching the final choice of Galician city Ferrol or old town La Coruna.

Prices for the cruise start from $2,259 per person twin share for an inside cabin. Cost covers accommodation, on board meals and entertainment as well as port fees.
