First ever Elvis tribute cruise for Australia
NewsHosted by Music Cruises Australia, and bookable only through Cruiseco, this three-night cruise from Sydney in November next year will pay tribute to “The King” of rock ‘n’ roll, Elvis Presley.
The cruise, which is aboard Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas, doesn’t go anywhere in particular, but even in the absence of any ports of call passengers will have plenty to occupy their time, including performances by 10 of the world’s best Elvis Tribute Artists.
Fares for the cruise, which departs on November 24 2011, start from only $980 a person, twin share, in an Ocean view stateroom or $788 a person, twin-share, in an Interior stateroom. Guests will receive entry to all shows by these world-favourite “The King” tribute artists in the ship’s showrooms and lounges, and all meals in a choice of venues from fine-dining to casual café-style.
And while the emphasis will be on rock ‘n roll, denim, sequins and blue suede shoes, there’ll be plenty of other options between shows and performances. Rhapsody the Seas has two pools, one outdoor under a retractable roof, six whirlpools, a rock-climbing wall, day spa and fitness centre, a shopping atrium, a range of themed bars, a casino and youth facilities.
Often called “The Ship of Light” because she features nearly a hectare of glass canopies, skylights and floor-to-ceiling windows, she will depart Sydney at 10pm on Thursday November 24 2011 and arrive back on Sunday morning November 27 after three nights “cruising to nowhere” and paying tribute to The King.
