Crystal Cruises has announced fares are going up on a record number of cruises next month.

From 1 March 2014, the line will increase fares on 94 percent of all its currently published 2014, 2015 and 2016 voyages.

The line’s Australian representatives, Wiltrans operations manager Kylie Farrell told Cruise Passenger the line reviews its rates every two months and increases are determined based on availability.

This year, the line has experienced a surge in booking activity.

Sales for 2014 are already 78 percent booked.

Forward bookings for 2015 are 42 percent ahead of the same time last year for 2014.

Ms Farrell said price increases vary for different voyages and how booked they are.

Meanwhile, Crystal Cruises president Edit Bornstein has advised holidaymakers to book their next cruise sooner rather than later.

“Travellers who don’t book by the end of February risk not only losing out on great savings, but possibly any space at all,” he explained.

The line’s current ‘Book Now’ promotion offers travellers a saving of up to $2,500 per person on Asia voyages and $1,800 per person on European cruises.

The offer will end on 28 February 2014.
