Crystal kids sail free

Parents only pay for themselves on selected Symphony voyages.

Luxury cruise line Crystal Cruises has announced that children under 17 will sail for free on three Crystal Symphony voyages next year, in a bid to make the departures more ‘multi-generational’.

Available for two full-fare-paying parents with children sailing in a third berth, the offer is available for seven-day cruises between Los Angeles and Vancouver on April 10 and 17, and a seven-day cruise sailing roundtrip from Los Angeles on November 20.

The cruises will visit ports along the California coast, British Columbia and Mexico.

Crystal Cruises isn’t the only cruise line looking to attract more children to its ships – Cruise Passenger recently reported (Cruise Passenger magazine, Spring 2010) that Uniworld Boutique River Cruises was introducing a range of family-friendly departures in 2011.

On these eight departures, Uniworld will have family-themed onboard activities including dessert-making, foreign language lessons, guided tours and sausage making.
