Cruise Lines avoid Israel
NewsWhile Israel’s most senior ministers are weighing up ceasefire terms in the Gaza strip, cruise lines have diverted itineraries to avoid the region.
Cruise Critic has reported the following amendments to ship itineraries:
Costa Pacifica
The ship will no longer visit Ashdod on 21 November and Haifa on 22 November, but will call into Santorini and Rhodes, Greece and Istanbul and Izmir, Turkey instead.
Oceania Nautica
Two overnight stays from 19-22 November in Ashdod and Haifa have been cancelled with the ship calling into Athens, Mykonos and Rhodes, Greece and Limassol, Cyprus instead.
Celebrity Cruises have issued a statement saying, “Should the situation in Israel make it necessary to bypass port calls to the country, we have identified suitable alternate locations where Celebrity ships may call.”
