Celebrity Cruises has announced changes to its loyalty program in a bid to make earning and redeeming points easier for its members.
Changes were introduced this week, in anticipation of doubling the line’s Australia and New Zealand membership by the end of the wave season.
The line has introduced two additional levels of status to its Captain’s Club program increasing the number of tiers from four to six. The levels are made up of; ‘Preview’; ‘Classic’; ‘Select’; ‘Elite; and the addition of ‘Elite Plus’ and ‘Zenith’.
Members who reach the new ‘Elite Plus’ status will receive benefits including; additional discounts for drinks and specialty dining; complimentary 200-minute Internet packages; and complimentary hot beverages.
The ‘Zenith’ status will offer benefits including; access to Michael’s Club Lounge; a complimentary premium alcoholic beverage package; complimentary laundry; and a 1,600-minute Internet package.
Additionally, the line has also introduced a new Club Points system. The system is designed to accelerate a member’s progression in the program by awarding them on their stateroom category and the number of days they spend on board.
Celebrity Cruises director of loyalty, Lee Moreau describes guest loyalty as the “cornerstone” of a business, and expects the program to show guests how much their loyalty is valued.
“At a time when many loyalty programs are cutting back on benefits or making it more difficult to redeem rewards, we’re thrilled to do just the opposite,” Ms Moreau said.
Members with previous cruise credits will have their points automatically converted into Club Points. In many cases, members may already find themselves as part of the line’s new tier statuses.
