Disappointed with your cruise? Carnival Cruise Lines will give you your money back plus some.

The cruise line has introduced a new program, Great Vacation Guarantee, which will allow unhappy Carnival guests to end their cruise early and get a 110 percent refund on the cruise, complimentary transportation home and a $100 shipboard credit for a future cruise.

Valid for US and Canadian residents only and applies on all three- to eight-day voyages to The Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Canada and New England departing until 30 April 2015.

Carnival president Gerry Cahill said the program was designed to provide consumers with assurance.

He said: “We are proud to carry nearly 4,5 million satisfied guests each year and are very confident in the quality of the vacation experience we provide on board the 24 ships of Carnival Cruise Lines.”

To exercise the Guarantee, guests need to notify the ship’s guest services desk within the first 24-hours of the voyage that they are unhappy. They will then receive a full refund of their cruise fare plus an additional ten percent.

Carnival will also handle the necessary travel arrangements for return air transportation from the next port of call.
