Ann Sherry, CEO of Carnival Australia, is pleased with the terms of reference for the Federal Government’s review of the potential for enhanced cruise ship access to Garden Island in Sydney.

All interested parties have been called to provide submissions relevant to the terms of reference by October 31, 2011.

“We believe the terms of reference are broad enough so that all points of view can be considered for the review to make well informed recommendations to the Government.” said Ann Sherry. “We are particularly pleased the review will include consideration of the economic benefits of improving cruise ship access to Sydney Harbour.”.

Carnival Australia advocates a three-berth solution to Sydney’s current cruise ship infrastructure shortage: one facility west of Sydney Harbour Bridge and two berths in the eastern harbour to accommodate ships too big to fit under the bridge.

A report will be tabled in December this year.
