Carnival puts on Legend-ary welcome for new ship and start of the Wave Season

She slipped into Sydney Harbour at darkest 4am, then waited until sun up. Carnival Legend fired the starting gun on Australia’s biggest ever cruise season today, and became her newest resident.

The 88,500 tonne ship, which boasts the world’s biggest water slide and is jam packed with amazing family fun areas including Dr Seuss, as greeted in spectacular style as the first in 35 vessels to visit our shores during the 2015 summer cruise season.

The Australian Girls Choir were on board performing a medley of well-known Australian tunes for 3000 guests and crew while helicopters flew overhead and a fire vessel produced the traditional water spout salute.
