If you’re planning an adventure holiday, now is the time to book, as cruise lines slash prices on 2014 and 2015 itineraries.

In the past year, the adventure and small cruising sector has picked up steam in amongst Australian cruisers, particularly with the arrival of new ships.

Among the new  ships are Silversea’s latest expedition ship, Silver Discoverer, which debuted in Broome late last year; Lindblad”s rebranded the Orion as the National Geographic Orion; and Ponant plans to send its first ship to Australia later this year.

With stiff competition, lines have ramped up with major discounts that will see cruisers saving thousand.

Here are the top five adventure and small ship deals on the market right now:

Ponant

Cruisers can save up to $1,600 and have access to unlimited drinks on select Ponant Asia and South America itineraries.

The offer is valid on seven South America cruises and five Asia itineraries departing between October this year and April next year.

Among the itineraries is an eight-night cruise departing Guayaquil in Ecuador to Puerto Caldera in Costa Rica.

Calls will be made in Quepos, San Juan Del Sur and Puerto Quetzal.

The cruise can be purchased from €1790 [AU$2,636] per person twin share, down from €2570 [AU$3,785] per person twin share.

Lindblad

Save on flights to the Galapagos or Fiji with Lindblad Expeditions.

Cruisers will receive up to $1,000 air credit per person when they book a select Fiji and Galapagos itineraries before 31 July 2014.

Among them is the 18-day Reefs, Lagoons and Volcanic Isles cruise from Fiji to Tahiti departing 18 November 2014.

The cruise takes guests from Nadi to Tonga, Samoa, Northern Cook Islands and Rangiroa before reaching Papeete in Tahiti.

Prices start from $18,420 per person twin share, and includes $1,000 air credit per person.

Silversea

To all the solo travellers – you haven’t been forgotten.

Silversea is offering a single supplement of only 25 percent on select voyages.

Traditionally, single travellers are required to pay double to cover the cost of a second person.

With Silversea’s discounted single supplement, solo travellers will only pay 25 percent extra in a twin share cabin.

Among the itineraries is a 14-night Portugal cruise aboard Silver Explorer.

Departing 23 April 2015, the cruise sails from Dakar in Senegal to Praia, Mindelo, ad Dakhla, San Sebastian, Santa Cruz De La Palma, Funchal, Safi, Casablanca and Portimao before ending in Lisbon.

Fares start from $7,7150 per person twin share for a silver privilege fare.

Windstar Cruises

Windstar is offering a two-for-one cruise fare on its 10-day round trip from Singapore aboard small ship, Star Pride.

The offer is available on departures between December 2014 and March 2015.

The cruise departs from Singapore to Penang, Malaysia; Langkawi, Malaysia; Phuket, Thailand; Ko Yao Noi, Thailand; Pulau Pangkor, Malaysia; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Malacca, Malaysia before returning to Singapore.

Prices start from $2,999 per person, which Is down from $3,999.

Un-Cruise Adventures

Un-Cruise Adventures is offering a $600 saving per couple when you book select Alaska cruises by 20 June 2014.

The offer is valid on cruises departing between June and August this year.

Among them is the Alaska’s Golden History aboard S.S. Legacy, which departs from Ketchikan, Alaska and visits Wrangell, Petersburg, Sergius Narrows, Chichagof Island, Glacier Bay, Haines and Juneau.
