Anticipating Antarctica
NewsAurora Expeditions has just released its 2012/13 Antarctica Brochure, filled with tried and tested staples and a number of new options for would-be Antarctic adventurers.
The Akademik Shokalskiy, sister ship to Polar Pioneer, will join Aurora’s fleet, giving passengers the choice of two ships. And with this a greater choice of departure dates (spanning from November 2012 through to March 2013) and an increase in the variety of voyage lengths – ranging from eight to 20 days.
The new program also offers fly and sail voyages and has increased the activity options available – with kayaking now offered on 16 voyages.
The program also introduces a new voyage, the ‘South Georgia and Weddell Sea’, on which passengers will journey in the wake of famous cold climate adventurer Ernest Shackleton, experiencing massive glaciers, wildlife havens, fossil rich islands, fur seals, penguins, elephant seals, reindeer and albatross along the way.
Have you visited, and if not, will you ever visit, Antarctica?
