Seabourn will build a new luxury ship estimated to cost more than $300 million – its fifth in its Odyssey class fleet – to be ready by 2018.
The announcement comes close on the heels of its fourth ship, currently under construction, which will ready by 2016.
The new ship will be able to accommodate 604 passengers and have 12 decks, various dining restaurants, casinos, lounges and an outdoor deck area.
It will be built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri S.p.A and designed by Adam D Tihany who said the new ship will have expanded public areas and an extra deck, taking the total number of decks to 12.
“These two new ships will offer the understated elegance we are known for, as well as new amenities, innovations and modern design features that embody the hallmarks of Seabourn,” the line’s president Richard Meadows said.
Seabourn said the construction of the two new ships will continue to modernise its fleet. The line has three Odyssey class of ships including Seabourn Quest, Seabourn Sojourn and Seabourn Odyssey. For more information, visit www.seabourn.com.
