On Friday, Adventure World invited Cruise Passenger’s News Editor, Alarna Haigh, onboard MS Volendam for a ship tour, lunch and preview of the Rugby World Cup 2011 charter cruise, attended by media, industry representatives, rugby fans and some of the games ‘legends’.

Rugby World Cup (RWC) 1991 winning Australian captain, Nick Farr-Jones; coach, Bob Dwyer; star player Mark Ella; and the ‘Voice of Rugby’, Gordon Bray, were on board to give a taste of what the 2011 charter will be like – rugby, rugby and more rugby.

Adventure World, who is one of only 20 official agents for the Rugby World Cup 2011, will charter Holland America Line’s MS Volendam from October 4, 2011, to cruise to Wellington for the quarter-finals, then Auckland for the semi-finals and finals, which mean passengers on board will be at the forefront of the action.

Volendam will also visit Christchurch, Picton, Tauranga and the Bay of Islands.

Fares for the cruise include airfares from Sydney, guaranteed category B tickets to two of the matches, airport transfers to and from the ship (as well as transfers to the matches) and a RWC 2011 supporter pack, plus all meals and ship hospitality as with any other Volendam cruise.
