A 39-year-old man travelling on Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Conquest is missing after he jumped off the ship at approximately 6.30pm on Friday, September 23.
Clint Wayne Markham of Forney, Texas, was seen jumping off the ship shortly after it left Cozumel, an island in the Caribbean Sea, a short distance from the coast of Mexico.
According to khou.com, an online news source based in Houston, Texas, passengers were informed in a letter from Antonio Sammartano, the ship’s captain, that the missing passenger had not been located, but that the Mexican navy was still carrying out the search.
“We continue to provide support to his family and friends during this difficult time,” he wrote. “We ask that you please continue to join us in keeping them in your thoughts and prayers.”
Carnival Conquest departed Galveston, Texas on September 18 and returned at 9am on Sunday 25.
