In a glittering ceremony, P&O’s newest ship, the Britannia was officially named by Her Majesty The Queen.
She was accompanied by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh where she broke a bottle of British Wiston Estate Brut NV against the hull of the 143,000 tonne cruise ship.
In celebration of all things British, the line selected the wine from the Wiston Estate Winery in Sussex.
P&O will be serving thousands of bottles from the winery during the array of Britannia launch events.
Britannia will be the largest ship home-ported in the United Kingdom and she was sail around the Mediterranean and Baltic before sailing to the Caribbean.
