Disney alumnus Jennifer Hudson will christen the new Disney Dream tomorrow.
It’s being reported on several US news sites that Jennifer Hudson, Dream Girls, Sex and the City and American Idol star, will become the godmother of new Disney Cruise Line ship Disney Dream.
Hudson, who began her showbiz career singing on a Disney Cruise Lines ship, will perform the song, “Who Knows Where A Dream Might Lead,” dockside at Port Canaveral in Florida, where the cruise ship is homeported.
Disney Dream is the third ship in the Disney fleet, joining Disney Magic and Wonder, while a fourth ship, Disney Fantasy, is currently being built at the Meyer-Werft shipyard in Germany. Fantasy is scheduled to enter service in 2012.
Both Dream and Fantasy are considerably larger than their predecessors, both carrying 4000 passengers, and have some new features including a “water coaster” and “virtual portholes” on inside cabins to display a real time image of outside.
