Following the success of new “Suite Ship” Panorama, Avalon announces plans for more.
It’s only days since Australian news anchor Lisa Wilkinson christened Avalon Waterways new “Suite Ship”, Avalon Panorama, and yet the river cruise line has just announced plans to launch two new ships in 2012.
Debuting along the Danube and Rhine, the 83-cabin Avalon Vista and 64-cabin Avalon Visionary will bring Avalon’s European fleet to 11 ships.
Like Panorama, the ships will feature two decks of all-suite accommodation, each having its own wall-to-wall windows to transform the cabin to an “open-air balcony” – part of the company’s endeavor to attract more Australian clientele.
Further expansion will happen in international markets when 74-cabin MS Mayfair and 65-cabin MS Kasr Ibrim launch in Egypt along the Nile and 16-cabin Avalon Angkor becomes the first Avalon Waterways ship to offer Mekong cruises.
