Guests celebrate golden age of cruising at the ICCA 2011 Cruise Awards

The cruise industry’s night of nights was held at Sydney’s Sheraton on the Park on Saturday January 29, 2011, marking the tenth anniversary of the International Cruise Council of Australasia Awards.  All the stars of the cruise and travel industry were there, looking great in their formal attire.

Cruise Council general manager, Brett Jardine, said he was delighted that television personality, Shelley Craft, a presenter on The Great Outdoors, could host the gala event.

Cruise Passenger magazine was the Gold Sponsor of the event for the fourth consecutive year.

Fifteen award categories across Australia and New Zealand were presented this year, following a decision to expand the Consumer Cruise Promotion award to better recognise the industry’s efforts.

In addition to awards for the best consumer promotion by an individual agency in Australia and in New Zealand, there will be a new award for the best promotion carried out by a network of agencies across Australasia.

Agencies were able to make nominations for the Cruise Promotion category as well as the Neil Frazer Outstanding Contribution by an Individual to the Cruise Industry award.

Other award categories – including Cruise Agency of the Year, Cruise Consultant of the Year and the Rising Star Award – are voted on by cruise line members and the Council.
