Holland America Line’s recently released 2012 Alaska CruiseTours feature 17 different itineraries that take guests into the wilderness, wildlife, native culture and history of Alaska. Six of these also venture into Canada’s Yukon territory, exploring Klondike Gold Rush heritage and the mountainous and wildlife-rich Kluane National Park and Tombstone Park.
Guests are offered the option to ‘cruise first’ or ‘tour first’ on itineraries that range from 10 to 20 days. Three-, four- or seven-day cruises of the Inside Passage are combined with tours accompanied by interpreters, tour concierges, travel guides and National Park ranges.
Guests can also customise their CruiseTours with a choice of shore and land excursions that include hiking, dog-sledding, fly-fishing, river-rafting and glacier landing by helicopter as well as informative historical and cultural tours.
“Our CruiseTours are designed to combine the best of both worlds — one of our incredible cruises with an overland exploration — and traveling to Alaska with us has never been more exciting or accessible,” said Richard Meadows, executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programs.
